Choose Quality Ingredients<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">That goes without saying! Whether you opt for a burger made from <a href=\"https:\/\/burger-pub.com\/en\/#to-snack\">beef, chicken, or wild game (such as venison)<\/a>, a good quality meat, preferably sourced locally, is essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Next, choose the accompaniments that you really like:  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fromagesdici.com\/fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Quebec-made cheese<\/a>, lettuce, seasonal tomatoes, squishy buns\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">And why not get a bit more ambitious by choosing homemade marinades like pickles, onions or cabbage, as well as a creamy dressing\u2014aioli instead of mayo, or barbecue sauce as a substitute for ketchup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">&#8220;Everyone has their own idea of what makes a perfect burger,\u201d says Chef Nief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">His idea of the perfect burger? Toasted bread (always!), bacon and mushrooms flamb\u00e9ed with whisky, avocado, mustard\u2026 and that\u2019s it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\"><strong>2. Prepare the Patty Carefully<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">&#8220;It&#8217;s best not to add anything to the meat before cooking it,&#8221; explains Chef Nief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Don\u2019t mix breadcrumbs or eggs into the mix because it affects the texture of the meat. Just sprinkle in a few spices (to taste) and that\u2019s all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">If you want to add onions, that\u2019s fine, but fry them first. Once you\u2019ve done that, you can mix them in with the meat, so that they will both cook at the same rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">3. <strong>Cooking the Burger for the Best Results<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">A common mistake is to mishandle the meat when cooking it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u201cYou absolutely must not press down on the patty when you\u2019re cooking it,\u201d warns Chef Pierre. \u201dIf you do, the juices will escape and dry out the meat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Cook the burger at a medium heat and it will remain moist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">4. <strong>Assembling the Burger<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Pierre Nief suggests assembling a burger in the following order, to ensure the best texture and to retain the flavours and freshness of the ingredients: start with the flat bottom of the bun, then apply sauce (but not too runny. He personally uses only mustard), a slice of lettuce, the meat patty, all the garnishes and finally, the rounded top of the bun.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">So what about cheese?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Pierre explains that there are a couple of ways to add cheese to your burger. The type of cheese dictates how the burger can be cooked to perfection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u201cIf you opt for a brie, for example, then you must put the cheese onto the burger while it\u2019s being grilled,\u201d he explains. \u201cWith a cheddar, you place the cheese on top of the (already cooked and assembled) burger, which you briefly place under the broiler. Withdraw it when the cheese is slightly melted, then place the top of the bun over the burger.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<section data-part=\"wrap\" class=\"block-media\" ><div data-part=\"inner\">\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"668\" src=\"https:\/\/burger-pub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/dsc-1216.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-321\" srcset=\"https:\/\/burger-pub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/dsc-1216.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/burger-pub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/dsc-1216-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/burger-pub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/dsc-1216-768x513.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<section data-part=\"wrap\" class=\"block-wrapper\" style=\"\"><div data-part=\"inner\" class=\"content-flow\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">5. <strong>Let the Meat Rest Before Serving<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The juices, which bubble to the surface of the meat during cooking, need to flow back into the burger. Let the meat \u201crest\u201d before removing it from the grill and adding the toppings. That way, the meat will be juicier, more tender and tastier. (Chef Nief points out that this procedure works well for all grilled foods.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Perhaps you don&#8217;t feel like cooking tonight?
